South America is hugely diverse with 14 countries offering a myriad of adventures for all types of travellers.
Patagonian glaciers, Andean peaks, Amazon rainforest, vast deserts, amazing beaches and colonial towns… with landscapes such as these, there aren’t many places on earth that offer so many opportunities.
I first travelled to Latin America in 1998 and I have since been travelling back and forth all over the continent for nearly 20 years. Many people ask me where is the best place to go… pin-pointing a destination or country is somewhat impossible.
A few of my highlights were:
Central America is a continent bursting with colour, a fraction of the size of South America and therefore very easy to explore and travel around. Tropical green jungles, white sand beaches, turquoise blue sea, bustling markets selling multi-coloured textiles and more often than not…glistening under the bright sunny skies.
My first trip to Central America was in 1998 working for a conservation project helping the Belizean government educate their people about protecting their coral reefs. The experience was so memorable that I went on to travel around the other countries.
