Uruguay’s beautiful VIK Hotels and Experiences

URUGUAY – showcasing three unique hotels in Uruguay, two set on the beach Playa and Bahia Vik and Estancia Vik in the countryside which was originally built as the owner’s home. Filled with original art, each room is different and was designed by an individual artist.

Bahia Vik

Infinity pools are a VIK trademark, and Bahia – although just steps from the sand – has four lagoon-like pools. Cork, marble, zinc or gold leaf – you choose, there’s a different room lined with each one among the 49 suites including 14 individual bungalows. This is the fourth and youngest sibling to join the VIK clan of art gallery-esque hotels.

Playa VIK

19 rooms including 6 individual casas with private terraces and stand-alone baths, there’s also a black-granite infinity pool which stretches out over the beach and lights up at night with LEDs which mirror the stars of the Southern hemisphere. Think surf and kayak in the sea, cycle to the lighthouse and eat out in the chic village of Playa José Ignacio.

Estancia VIK

Located 15-minutes inland from it’s sister properties by the beach, this 12 room colonial-style estancia is set on a 3,700-acre estate and the twelve suites are each designed by a different Uruguayan artist. Explore the underground wine cellar, play pool, ping-pong, lie by the swimming pool, try your hand at polo and ride down to a lagoon surrounded by flamingos, ostriches and storks.
