Awasi Atacama is a mini village within the town of San Pedro on the north of Chile, 12 adobe luxurious suites dotted around courtyards with fire pits and an open-air swimming pool. A Relais & Chateaux boutique hotel, Awasi Atacama is an oasis in the world’s driest desert. Your days are spent exploring the desert with your own private guide in 4×4 vehicles, on horseback, on mountain bikes or on foot. The landscape isn’t just a sandy desert…here you will see volcanoes, geysers, canyons with giant cacti, multi-coloured lakes with fabulous birdlife, giant salt flats dating back to prehistoric times as well as mighty impressive huge sand dunes and lunar landscapes. Awasi Patagonia in southern Chile is spread across a private reserve with front-row views of Torres del Paine, the 14 villas are inspired by gaucho outposts each with their own open-air hot tubs. Guests could be sipping a deep bodied Malbec, soaking in the hot tub and viewing puma in the distance. Being on a private reserve, guests have the privacy of remote wilderness to themselves which many other lodges don’t have in this region. This spectacular Lodge has views over the Torres del Paine Mountain Range, the Patagonian Steppe and Lake Sarmiento. It is the world’s southernmost Relais & Chateaux hotel. Awasi Iguazu…Opened in Feb 2018, the newest of the Awasi lodges. From the base of this 14-villa uber-lodge (15 mins from Iguazu Falls) guests explore the Atlantic Rainforest with a private guide and Jeep. There is more to the gigantic falls and this is where Awasi’s experiences add that extra element. Awasi Iguazú has developed unique and innovative jungle excursions, which will allow their guests to experience not only the falls, but also the fauna, flora and indigenous cultures of the surrounding Atlantic Rainforest.
