Riding in Andalucia, Southern Spain

A short flight from the UK to Seville or Jerez and you are only a stones throw away from some of Spain’s most beautiful countryside and landscapes… It is here you can experience some amazing riding safaris.
Our riding guide has tailored 4 riding safaris through diverse and contrasting Andalusian landscapes.

A private riding safari on the Costa de la Luz departs through El Palmar beach via Caños de Meca beach and traversing the pine forests in the natural park and ending up in Barbate beach.

A private riding safari in the Coto Doñana National Park, Europe´s most important bird sanctuary, departing from Los Hinojos, traversing the pre park of Doñana, riding through las encantadas and ending up in the town of El Rocio.

A private riding safari along the Via Verde departing from Puerto Serrano along the Andalusian sierras along the decommissioned railway line and ending up in Olvera.

A private riding safari through the marshlands departing from Salinas de Bonanza, through las compuestas de Trebujena and ending up in the pine forests of Algaida.

You can either be driven or drive yourself to each meeting point which is anywhere from 45 minutes to an 1hour 15 min drive from Hacienda de San Rafael.   Your horses and guide will be waiting there and you will then start your adventure and ride into the countryside.

What Riding Experience do you need? 

You have to be at least an intermediate rider as it is a full day in the saddle, riding up to 6 hours.  The ride would start in the morning around 10.30am and you stop for a picnic lunch in the countryside.  What is unique about this experience is being able to ride freely in regions that have not been discovered by many others through spectacular nature and landscapes to die-for.

The Price   

The cost per rider is 350 euros + 21% IVA for the full day (6 hours riding).  This includes your private guide, the transport of your horses, your horses ready on arrival in english saddle, lunch, drinks (excludes transfers). (2019 prices)

When to Go   

The riding safaris are best suited from January – May and end of September to December avoiding the summer heat.  Another advantage is because of the sandy terrains even if it were raining in spring / autumn or winter they are sand based therefore no mud on the hoof and very comfortable for rider.
